·   Major Highways

I-24
Interstate 24 runs east/west through Lyon County, connecting to Nashville and St. Louis.  I-24 is located just minutes from the site.

Western Kentucky Parkway
The other limited-access highway in Lyon County is the Western Kentucky Parkway.  This roadway begins near Eddyville at the Interstate 24 interchange and runs to Elizabethtown and Lexington

US 62
Running east to west, US 62 is four lanes between Eddyville and Kuttawa.  The road is two lanes west of Kuttawa and east of Eddyville.  US 62 also serves US 641 until the two split about five miles east of Eddyville.  US 62 connects Eddyville/Kuttawa with Paducah to the west and eventually stops at Bardwell, KY.  US 62 heading east runs to Lexington, Columbus, OH, eventually stopping at Niagara Falls, New York.

US 641
This highway uses the US 62 corridor running west to east in Lyon County until about five miles east of Eddyville.  The highway turns north and ends in Marion, KY.  The southern end of the highway connects Eddyville/Kuttawa with Kentucky Dam, Murray, Paris, and eventually stops at Interstate 40 in Tennessee.

·   Rail

The Martin Marietta Quarry Railroad and P&L Railroad are the potential rail service providers for Pennyrile WestPark Industrial site.  It is possible that rail spurs will be added, connecting the industrial site to both rail lines.

Railroads operating in the state include CSX, Norfolk Southern, Canadian National Railway Company, and the Paducah and Louisville Railway. Intermodal service is becoming increasingly important to many distributors and is now available at several facilities in Kentucky.

·  Water

The City of Eddyville owns and operates the Eddyville Port Authority, located approximately 10 miles from the site and just minutes from Interstate 24 and US 641.  This dock facility can accommodate barge traffic and the offloading of major industrial equipment and other freight.  They are currently making improvements to their infrastructure, dredging additional spoil basins to increase their service capacity.

·   Air
There are numerous small airports within an hour’s drive from the Pennyrile WestPark mega-site.  These airports can accommodate private planes and other small aircraft.  They include: Princeton-Caldwell Airport (13 miles), Lake Barkley State Park Airport (24 miles), Sturgis Municipal Airport (38 miles), Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport (40 miles), Madisonville Municipal Airport (48 miles), and Muhlenberg County Airport (58 miles).  See the table below for detailed information on these airports.

The Marion/Crittenden Airport is 20 miles from the site.  It has seen major upgrades within the last few years.  These upgrades will accomodate more air traffic and larger aircraft.  The airport is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  There are pilot controlled light operations and an instrument approach is now an option.  The airport now has hangar space and tiedowns available and a fuel system under construction will be functional by Spring 2008.  The airport will offer 100 octane avi-gas, with an expansion to include jet fuel within 18 months.  Future plans also include extending the runway to 5000 feet.

Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah is 46 miles from the site.  It accommodates small commercial and private air traffic.  It also provides air freight services to account holders.

Nashville International Airport is approximately 100 miles from the site and can accommodate all commercial and private air traffic.
